St. Nick

Into the darkness of the cold north sky
Riding upon the northern winds which cry
Here comes Santa in his sleigh with gifts for one and all
With Rudolph in the lead high above the flying gulls

He steers this vessel of happiness with tender loving care
After all it's a job he does but once a year
Well rested he leads the other reindeer
To children filled with anticipation and cheer

For St. Nick is the patriot saint for those young at heart
He comes to soothe the pains and fears
Which at times drives us so far apart
He's the consciousness which shows we care

Now this is Christmas, a time to reflect
Upon a new dawn we soon to caress
We look for forgiveness for us to ingest
A place of redemption no thought to regress

It's the children of this world that holds the key of peace
For Santa brings more than gifts in the joy of his call
To each of you who share this site with me
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, may God be with you all

Another Dawn

Dedicated: to a river warrior called, Delta blue

Beyond this path called Delta Blue
Lies the memories known but to few
Lined with fears to greet the dew
We search the river's dirty hue

For signs of terror from the ones
Without remorse we seek to kill
Vengeance echoes from fallen sons
Lost in battles between the hills

Within this place a living hell
We seek the prey, the orders say
With fear we march into a jungle's cell
With hate spitting upon our hearts we'll pray

To see another dawn

Fair Winds

Fair winds and following seas
Guides a forlorn sailor home
From surging waves ride lasting deeds
Atop the swells which foam

Far and wide we track the world
On oceans cold and wild
A ship which shimmers like a pearl
We pray we'll not defile

In our sail on endless wakes
We search to seek our fine
A place of peace for our sake
Which takes us beyond time?

We hear the calmness between the bells
That rings so loud and clear
Releasing us from this magical spell
From the winds their comes a cheer

Approaching the narrows of St. John's Bay
We survived the price of another voyage
To rest, we pray, towards heaven we say
Thank you Lord, for giving us courage

Our Nature

Inside the window of time
Within the words we know as rhyme
Lies a love so well defined
It comes in dreams like mystical chimes

To make us dance sometimes pine
Of what was forbidden in what we sought
It's not often one will shine
In the sculptured words we thought were lost

Writing to convey secrets within our hearts
To others who share these thoughts
At times we hit a nerve with what we impart
Impressions can be like grains of salt

Sometimes taken most often mislaid
But we as poets prod on it's our nature
Not worrying if our stanzas will fade
In a poetic sense our words becomes the feature

The Key

There is a world within my mind
Where I do seldom go
Which come in dreams when I'm asleep
Beneath the painted stars which glow

A haunting place each time I visit
Mystical in every way
But dawn brings me home again
Ending this heavenly stay

It's not often one can feel
The sculptured words of antiquity
If only I could find the key
Unlocking the fate that's sealed

Within the whispering shifting sands
What sights my eyes would see
As I walk towards the silence to pray
What graceful thoughts I hope to convey

Inside the windows of time
Lies a love so well defined
Clasped inside the hands of one so kind
Resides the destiny we hope to find

Richly Given

In Memory: Poetry Masters of old

There is a quiet wind that blows
Across the vestiges of one's soul
Marching to rhythm so effortlessly it flows
Whispering softly of reality to the zesty and the bold

For desires of engraving, like the poetry masters of old
Who write of stark beauty, in words I'll never know
Throwing caution out the window, I surge into the cold
Taking pen in hand composing, from the caverns of my soul

Caring not if rejected as a writer who knows not rhyme
For I'm a want a be poet, a dreamer of the real
Finding favor in the stanzas emerging from my mind
Posting to a web site, which accepts these words of zeal

Sharing with a gladden heart this gift towards the living
Taking care not to worry, about the currents that surge my way
Thankful for the inner peace which has been richly given
With dreams of being a relic from yonder yesteryear, what thoughts I could convey?

Real Time

It's not the writings from my yesterdays
That makes me who I am
It's what's to come in my tomorrows
Which reflects in the man I portray?

So I'll take wheat been consigned my way
For the betterment of this life
Will merge to what's yet to come
praying only the good shall follow

There are lessons one can learn from strife
In our remaining days
For those who remember the past
Opens the soul to reality

To all who read between these lines
A solemn creature will emerge
A throw back to real time
Somewhat lost but not forgotten

The time is now my mind is free
It's the way I wish to be
For I've found the key
Which unlocks the door?

Where a peaceful heart resides
It beats with a single purpose
To shine a light into the dark
Which contains the best of me?

Devil's Blight

In Memory: The late Hollywood actor Vincent Price & Pop Star legend Michael Jackson

From the darkness of the night

Lies a secret place of fright

Known to us as the devil’s blight

Wakes us to an ugly sight

In dreams we tend to fight

But in the end it flares and bites

Wakes us to a ghastly site

Wishing we could find the light

To make this evil a lesser mite

To send to hell what’s comes tonight

To bring us back too pure delight

I pray to God with all my might

To bring me home and hold me tight

Four Winds

Dedicated:
To a special Lady who paints rainbows with her words

The greatest gift a poet could give

Is the shatter the darkness with written words
Compassionate memories which makes us want to live
Touching thoughts within our destiny we try so hard to purge

Dwelling deep within ourselves letters begin to merge
A gathering of cries as mellowing minds begin a lofty surge
Bringing forth calmness in synonyms not meant to mar
Placed into stanzas they reveal just who we are

As the four winds blow across a sea so ever blue
The banter of friendship resides in rainbow's imbues
Stirring a warmth within our hearts
Spreading a glow in the smiles we impart

So take heed to all who share this special gift
It's given to those who compose with tender loving care
From the shadowy vestige of the highest mountain cliff
We'll caress ones heart and soul in the words we write to share

Lost Forgotten Rhyme

Woven into the patterns of a lost forgotten rhyme
Resides the answer to a riddle half hidden in my mind
Secrets hashed between the seams of never ending schemes
Of the passion dearly held within the darkness of my dreams

Enticing fragments from sad memories to soothe an aching heart
Releasing the rapture of true light as I watch our love depart
Thinking if by changing would our hands entwine again
Like it did when we were courting, when slowly our love began

Will the specter of our yesterdays be the embodiment of drifting ways?
As we soar towards new goals without each other to have a say
So I'll take the unanswered riddle which is wrapped around my soul
As we leave in separate directions on a lonely road so cold

Remember well my dearest the passions we once embraced
For I hope you'll find the answer to what we left unlaced
As I seek an unknown territory without a clue to what I'll find
Knowing so well the sadness, from a lost forgotten rhyme

The Realms of Time

Dedicated: To those who have lost a partner thru death, and trying to cope with a new reality

There are nights which brings the sweetness of long forgotten love
They come when I'm feeling low, lost in a moonlit cove
Like the colors of a fading rainbow, dissolving into tears
I track a lonely shoreline with just my hidden fears

Which echoes to the waves of a lost forgotten chime?
A place of peace along with calm inside the realms of time
Within the twilight lies the nectar of what we held so close
Caressingly touching the rapture, we strike a handsome pose

Hand in hand we thread the sands with memories to guide the way
Of all we've shared between the years what love we did display
I take you in my arms my dear before you fade away
To kiss your tender lips with care, in our walk along the bay

I wake to a sunlit morning facing an empty pillow
Struggling with my life which seems to be so hollow?
For I'll face another day without you waiting for the night
To take me to your loving arms, where the dark turns into light

Safe Harbor

Could it be the very structure of this world?
Be the cause of all the treasured dreams I've seen
Into the sultry sea we sail, enticed by the winds which swirl
Navigating into the abyss standing fast on this brigantine

Watching the distant releasing a welcome sunrise
Dispersing the darkness bringing the light the embodiment of such glee
Much joy the salty spray does make, across the painted skies
Riding memories emerged in currents, we trek towards the lee

Voyaging to a goal I hope to make, a safe harbor for our souls
Remembering my fellow shipmates the one I lost at sea
There faces linger tears still fall, from the shadows unmerciful cold
Thank the Lord there's just a few, these men of honoree

With the knowledge as Captain I was never overwhelmed
In guiding ship and crew from this vast domain safely back to poet
Tough decisions are often made by the one who mans the helm
As the harbor breaks this magical spell, to God and crewmates, I'll pay court

Sailing into St. John's Bay brings comfort to our souls
For we bested the majestic sea avoiding the dangerous shoals
Completing another voyage arriving with ship and crew intact
Resting we'll renew ourselves, in wait of a new course to track

Autumn Breeze

I hear the autumn breeze approaching
Ridding us of the heat the cause of much commotion
As summer gusts begin to fade
We've set a Texas record even in the shade

A fact many Texans will hate to hear, or come to love
Totaling fifty-nine days of 100 degrees and above
Just enough to shake ones head a test of true validity
Upon a state known for its southern hospitality

Not to mention the lack of moisture another record of shame
The dryness of this year makes El Niño take the blame
But as I've said before brighter days lie ahead
Those of us who share this land our fears will soon be shed

When autumn brings cooler air hopefully with rain
Changing the texture of the ground releasing us from our pain
That's what we're in need of now
To forget this season make it bow

For those of us born and raised in this Lone Star state
This season will truly be remembered etched into our fate
Weather like this plagues us ever so once in awhile
To this wide-eyed country boy, it's been one hell of a trial

Wretched Soul

I'll share with you a secret I've come to learn with life
There is only roughness on the lanes of petty strife
Filled with curbs, with many obstacles obstructing our point of view
As we run this ragged gauntlet, like members of a ghastly crew

Who sail towards a destiny at times without a heart?
Seeking ways to break the cycle aboard a ship without a chart
To save what is so precious but the touch we feel is cold
Thinking how much the cost will be we sell our wretched soul

I know I am a sinner, I shall live a brief existence
For life can be long in living, and as short as an instant
So take a moment to reflect on what you have become
Decide just what is needed to change the total sum

If you feel there's more to living on the other side of death
Feel free to accept the one who died for in the whisper of his breath
Lies the smoothness on a road, with seamless curbs paved with gold
Leading to lasting majesty filled with the love he warmly holds

Brighter Days

There is a calling that thrives within my tortured soul
It wakes me to imaginary dreams on an ocean so far away
Aboard a ship beneath the mast, enveloped by the cold
I strain to hear amid the fog the sounds of a distant buoy

A remembrance of forgotten times which lie beyond the realm
Of waves surreal fearlessly dancing between the cresting swells
Astounded I ride upon this painted sea, with hands around the helm
Praying the glittering sunlight will not wake me from this spell

There is a hope within ones heart
For brighter days to come
To change the gloom which fills the cart?
In the march to a beating drum

But now the bygone days have passed
I'll accept what falls my way
Waiting for the sun to set, hoping the nighttime last
Just long enough to take me back to where I have a say

So I'll reminisce of the past as I close my eyes to sleep
Where a ragging sea within a gale rejoices me no end
Though the years have passed me by I still have tales I'll share and keep
For I'm the master who steers this ship, towards the howling wind

Startled Dreams

So many times we've seen the look
That defines just who we are
Arriving in startled dreams, like chapters from a book
Wakening hidden feelings, between the twilight of the stars

A gathering of forgotten memories to calm a restless heart
Complications of strife we'll carry to our graves
Hoping before life ends the hurt we caused departs
That's the way it is on a road which has been paved

By many tears shed from those who lead the way
For life is never easy it comes with many perils
The road to eternity has a price for those who have a say
It sings of songs for forgiveness by Angels in their carols

The cost for entering the gates of forever
Simpler then you'll think to imagine
Just believe in the Father and the Son, the bearer
Of the Holy Spirit who'll cleanse our souls of sin

Edge of Forever

There is a chapel of repose
Upon an island to eternity
A quite respite to decide and choose
To embrace infinity

We're born to sail this ragged sea
Filled with waves to engulf desires
With open heart we seek the key
That will guide us from this mire

In the course of one's reflections
Lies decisions hastily made in strife
Many will fail to make corrections
In their voyage to another life

As this ship sails to the edge of forever
Time is found which has no end
Those who wander are the givers
A few we'll know as friends

Many will pass beyond the edge
To some they will be missed
While others will thread the ledge
Afraid of the maddening abyss

By and by our trek will have an ending
For we'll be judged by our creator
Hoping goodness will be the binding
Which allows us thru the gate?

So in the course of this solemn trip
Felt deeply in our soul
We'll steer the rudder of our ship
Towards the brightness beyond the cold

Deranged

If the sky could shed tears
From the harm which has been struck
By mankind's controlling fears
Clouds would be like tear ducts

Crying waves of total despair
What pain would be shared?
To those below who stare?
At a world in need of repair

The years have took its toll
It's felt within our bones
The aches and pains we're told
Come in pollutants from our dome

Is their time for us to change?
To fix the damaged caused
From all we've deranged
For the clock has no pause

It moves towards a fate
We control our destiny
It can never be too late
For in the clearness of the sky

Stands infinity

Fabric of Time

Is death the breeze which blows away?
The very fabric of time
Will it come quickly like the winds which sway?
In the hidden notes of a forgotten chime

Within the silence of a throbbing heart
Exists a calmness the nature of necessity
I wonder will this destiny soon depart
Towards clouds of peace created by reality

Opening a gate to the unknown
Exposing a lonely trodden road
I've never traveled before yet knowning I'm alone
Bedazzled and feeling the pressure from the load

I trek beyond my mortal fears
Towards a goal I hope to make
Amid the moisture of flowing tears
I take control for my very sake

Hearing the death knell of the breeze
It shakes the outer edge of time
Forcing the trees to drop their leaves
Enticing my soul to wither and pine

Leaving this place of contentment
I'll gather new thoughts within this ride
To all that waits in wonderment
With open eyes and sorrowful pride

I wait to greet my fate

Scarlet Streams

There's a silent hush upon her face
Half hidden within sweet dreams
Memories lost in a maddening chase
Across the scarlet streams

Conceived in being a righteous lass
A country girl who wears no crown
She grew into a woman of class
In her move to jolly London town

In a solemn attitude so different than before
She learns it's not quite the same
As she bolts and locks the door
Wondering what price is paid for fame?

Now the days are spent alone
No time for fun just work
Recalling the times back home
Questions begin to lurk

One day she wakes yearning
From what was left behind
Thoughts from the past are burning
Within her tearful mind

Reflected from the mirror lines appear
Showing the effects of time
As the days turn into years
Teary eyes begins to pine

For what will never be
From all she left behind
Greeting another morn she turns the key
As the sun begins to shine
