A Dark Boding Place

In Memory Simon Ruiz (1922-1997) Diagnosed with prostate cancer November, 1996 Died April, 1997

There is a dark boding place Lying deep within our minds It holds the truth of lost despair
This comes when we're sublime In youth there are no worries We're here to live a life Nevertheless time forges into a title Known by the name called strife One will always know When youth has mislaid its gleam As we age upon highways Filled with sad forgotten dreams These are the ramblings of a man Who remembers another's fate His wisdom shall go unanswered Only cries are heard, for in the winds they fade So I'll keep within my heart The tenderness I'll always miss Thanking him from the silence Of my nightly bliss But my life is not quite over I've seen the glinting mask of death Walked away with just a scare And a much keener inner faith Thank you Dad for reminding me There's more to life than what is taught Death is not the true finality Just the beginning of future thoughts Written by: Roland R. A Child’s Prayer

The time has come my little one
To show you how to pray
You're four years old
My, the days have flown

Gosh, you've really grown
It's best to get you started
So listen very closely
To all I have to say

Look towards the open window
Above the sky between the stars
Lies the home our Father built
Where all our prayers are sent

There's a house all ready and waiting
For each of us when it's time for us to leave
But for know my dear don't worry
Just learn to speak to God

Let the words flow from your heart
For he knows you very well
Tell him how much you love him
For the life he's given you

Ask him to protect you always
When you sleep into the night
Ask for his forgiveness
When you forget to call his name

But most of all remember
He's always their for you
So in the closing of your prayer
Ask God to bless us all

Especially Mommy and Daddy
Who keeps you warm with love
For our thoughts for you will never leave
As you walk into your life

If you do this every night
In your prayers to God above
His love for you will only grow
Each moment of the day

So now you've learned just how to pray
It's your heart he listens too
Until he calls you home
To the house he's built for you

Remember what I taught you
It's meant for you alone
Until God gives you a child
You'll teach to pray with love

Written Dreams

Dedicated: Poetry2Share

From my wayward travels
As time follows a precious path
You touch my heart with your caring thoughts
In the looks you turn my way

The rainbow that carries our hopes and prayers
Becomes stronger each second of the day
This helps renew the beauty of the arch?
Which stretches between our souls, across this wide divide?

While the ebb and flow of friendships developed
In our march thru life's embrace
Reminds me of the gifts received
By the power from a higher place

To those who shares this special treasure
I send my best your way
May you live a lifetime, filled with love
For the many words shared, in our earthly stay

May God bless all who make Poetry2Share
A very exceptional website
Where our hearts are turned to tears
When we post our written dreams

Whispers in the Wind

I hear whispers in the wind, which beats to the music of forgotten dreams
Like subdued echoes from a lonely past, alluring, yet without means

Forging together what once was one, we tread the turbulent waters
Wishing our frail shape, with multiple cracks, will hold together not falter

But time will be the tormentor of what once we held as hope
Bringing another factor called change, between the ridges and the slopes

Funny how love can float beyond the realm of delayed commotions
Like a floundering ship, filled with lost connections and empty emotions

We respond as one would think, realizing in the blink of an eye
Of the love we once held, it's their to be found, in the twilight of the sky

For all these many years together, should not be all for naught
Let's work together, in bringing a close, to our wayward faults

For in the whispers of the wind, can bring solace to one's hearts
If we listen very carefully to the harmony, it imparts

The Spider's Leer

Like a spider which weaves a web
To catch a prey to nourish
I lay besides you, in search of dreams
To calm the tension, which flourish?

Depression seems to follow me
On the fast lanes of life's embrace
Locked within a cage, I feel forgotten concerns so tightly encased
Imprisoned without a key I search for a way to escape

Remembering the sweet times we've shared together
Brings my frail sanity, to a near normal state
Fearing the worst I pray for a miracle to happen
For losing you will be the end, is this to be my fate

I've thought of what might be done
To life this yoke and spare the heavy burden
One bullet from a chamber would cure all my ills
Ceasing the pain turning the tide, sadly closing the curtain

But this is not the way to go, for their must be another solution
For I shall not become the prey, of the spider's leer
Faith shall lead me back again to the fold of your loving arms
Where we shall live as never before, as we shout with joyful cheer

From this tangle mesh in the weave we have sewn
Will deter us from becoming the prey to the creatures of the night
For the love which was lost from within our hearts will soon be released
Igniting a flaming passion once again, in a web of sheer delight
