Oozy Black

In the gibes we employ
Contain the glib we enjoy
In our tease to no end
To bring a smile or a grin

We spoke fun in our jest
In this spar of social unrest
Caressing a calm ever pleading
To a world sadly bleeding

Times of fun seems misgiving, even lost
Bringing heartaches at great cost
To the aftermath of misguided care
From this globe we all do share

Wouldn't it be nice if we could change
Towards a highway with super lanes
Keeping us on the straight and narrows
Without the pains from flying arrows

Such life would bring laughter back
Tears would dry our cries would lack
The Gulf of Mexico would be intact
but life and greed has become the fact

In this sordid mess of oozy black
Above, beneath the sea that's tracked
Lies God's critters his gift to all
Slowly dying has we no gall

Author's Note

As I type this poem on my computer, the TV is showing
the damage done to God's creatures due too our
greed and stupidity. May God forgive us for our sins?
Speaking as an American so ashamed of this travesty

Inner Shell

To touch our lips with a kiss
Brings a feeling of total bliss
Sweetness felt between the sheets
As the morn arrives a new day we great

But not before passion uncurls
We take our time in love we swirl
We merged our bodies into one
Matching the rhythms of the rising sun

Lurching together, we shudder, explode
Falling back into a slumbering mode
Regaining our strength from intimates of love
Preparing ourselves we coo like flying doves

Awakening to feelings we hope will last
Due to the destiny of the past
Regales the reality of this glorious union
Dedicated to the powers so unassuming

We surge towards the winding bend
Together united we begin to blend
Into a form that will shape our end
Coming together we gather to mend

Lustful desires amid a burning flame
Continued thru the years the flicker remains
I feel as if I've grown into
The inner shell that belongs to you

Sordid Lies

(A last grasp at togetherness)

What lurks inside a breathless thought?
Aroused by regrets so keenly sought?
Of love we've shared but somehow lost
The pain so conjures a priceless coast

If only the feelings we once did save
Return to us like the waves which crave
That special mood we nurtured and paved
Reflections of thoughts now ever so grave

Desires of love I wished returned
I know you feel you've been spurned
I've acted totally unconcerned
Is our bridge forever burned?

Such feelings are worth another try
I see your tears I hear you cry
I feel you want to say goodbye
From the many sordid lies

So now the rest is up to you
My promise for you is to be true
Forgiveness comes with many hues
From shames inflicted reside the dues

In this last grasp at togetherness
I ask to put aside the bitterness
From the visions of my roving ways
Will you turn the dark to the light of day?

For I'm a frail and weakened man
Who's seen the errors of this sham?
I want so much to keep this bank
You placed so lovely upon my hand
