Evil seeks the quickest way
To pierce a parting heart
When love turns to cinder
To all we did impart
Between two lost lovers
We look to find our way
Back to what we held
Forged from bygone days
Odd the way wickedness
Can work into one's life
Turning feelings sour
Making a loveless wife
I as your husband
Share half the blame
Should have seen it coming
Did nothing to stop the shame
Could it been done different
With smiles instead of jeers
Creating a different destiny
Without the fears and tears
Now we part, nothing left
To keep and hold together
As we take our separate roads
In search of something better
So I'll bid farewell to you
As I watch you disappear
Wishing the best comes your way
To what will soon appear
Fading into the silence
We'll hold our memories
Remembering what was lost
From a time so unforgiving
